Danzig es una banda de Horror punk estadounidense fundada en 1987 por el vocalista Glenn Danzig tras su salida de The Misfits y Samhain. Para completar su formación, Danzig reclutó al guitarrista John Christ, al bajista Eerie Von y al batería Chuck Biscuits.

Danzig fue el primer LP del grupo Danzig, producido por Rick Rubin, productor de grupos como ACDC, Metallica y System of a Down. El álbum cuenta con la colaboración en los coros de James Hetfield, guitarrista y cantante de Metallica, en los temas "Twist of Cain" y "Possesion", pero por problemas con las productoras no figuró en los créditos.

El disco alcanzó la fama entre 1993 y 1994 cuando el tema "Mother" empezó a escucharse en radios y televisión por la inclusión de este single de la banda en la placa Thrall: Demonsweatlive, grabada en vivo.

La banda siempre ofrece un concierto el 31 de octubre (año nuevo celta, halloween).
